NPA Resolution & Settlements · Question
Short answer
You do not need to announce the classification itself, but you should communicate honestly about its practical effect. Tell key staff and critical suppliers that the business is operating, how it is managing cash, and what you expect from them. Rumours do more damage than a measured message, so decide who needs to know and what they need to hear.
There is no rule that obliges you to publicise your banking status to everyone. The question is practical: whose trust do you need to keep operations going, and what will they assume if they hear it from someone else.
Think in three circles.
Senior team and key staff come first. They may hear from the market, from a lender's visit or from changes in banking. A short briefing that explains the situation, your plan and their role keeps the people you most need from leaving out of uncertainty. Avoid sharing legal strategy or sensitive negotiation detail.
Critical suppliers come next, particularly those who extend credit. If you expect to move to tighter payment terms, say so before a payment is missed, and propose a realistic schedule. Suppliers generally prefer a clear plan to unexplained delays.
Wider staff and customers need reassurance, not a financial briefing. A message that wages, service and delivery commitments continue is usually sufficient.
A steady, factual message
A small manufacturer tells its supervisors that one of its bank loans is under discussion, that wages and statutory payments are being protected, and that orders continue as normal. It tells three key suppliers that payments will follow a fixed weekly schedule for a period. No one is promised anything the owner cannot deliver.
Keep your messages consistent, in writing where it matters, and never describe the lender's position as settled when it is not. Do not make promises about timelines you do not control. If you are unsure what to disclose, a short conversation with your advisor helps. You know your people and your relationships far better than any outsider.
